A few new trailers and things have caught my attention tonight. Not all of them for new things, either, sometimes big updates can be just as exciting — Enshrouded Update 7 (aka, ‘Wake of the Water’) as a case-in-point.
But… I can’t start with anything other than…
Hollow Knight: Silksong
But note that as I post this, there is still ~35 hours on the premier clock for… whatever this ends up being.
My prediction: It’s a shadow drop and video will say, ‘Game released now, go buy and play!’
And then my alarm clock will go off and I’ll awaken.
No, no, I kid. Although this thing has been in the works so long, it certainly has been placed — for the purposes of retaining sanity — in my mind into the category of ‘never going to turn up in my natural lifespan’.
So I do think a shadow drop at the end of this is not out of the question, but at minimum, I expect we’ll come away with a release date to go alongside the additional gameplay teaser.
Lords of the Fallen II
I’ve only somewhat recently started playing Lords of the Fallen (2023) after their 2.0 update, when they added in co-op by way of a free ‘Friends Pass’, which is a neat addition I always love to see for any game.
We’re not done with it yet, hard to say if we even will (my co-op partner is not much of a Souls-like afficiando), but the experience while not a top-notch-shining-example of the genre was good enough that I’m holding some interest in seeing where they go next.
Europa Universalis V
I’ve not given the Europa Universalis series anywhere near as much time as Crusader Kings, and in fact — EUIV is the only one I’ve touched at all.
There is just something about the more personal relationships and stories of CK that pulls it ahead.
Even so — colour me interested. Getting in at the ground floor on a Paradox game is generally a good idea if you want to have any hope of learning the game in question without reliance on extensive ‘let’s play’ styled tutorial videos. xD
Silent Hill f
I… think… I’m interested? I’ve actually never played a silent hill game before. The concept has always interested me (insofar as I understand it, at least) — just never made the jump to actually doing anything about it.
I watched the movie though, if that counts? xD
In any case, similar to EUV above — I’ll await reviews and see how it lands before deciding, but will keep it on my radar in the meantime.
Enshrouded — Wake of the Water Update
A quick search tells me that the only prior mention of Enshrouded on Time to Loot was the January 2024 Journal. Said mention? Just a sole entry logging ~5 hours of play time, and that was it.
So I’ll say now what I didn’t say then: I loved almost everything about my time with Enshrouded, even at that early point (which must’ve basically been at release).
There was just one disappointing factor for me.
In multiplayer, the quest state is (was? I should look into this) determined by the world state. And not just for things where maybe it makes sense (e.g., rescuing an NPC) but for everything.
If you, as I do, prefer to have independent bases *in addition* to the more communal setup– so far as the quests are concerned anyway, too bad.
This is absolutely a nitpick, and even if that is unchanged, the look of this update, let alone whatever may have come up to this point, might be the point at which I let it go and jump back in regardless. It looks great.
Resident Evil Requiem
My ‘real’ introduction to Resident Evil (*cough* outside of the movies) was with what I believe to be the first of the modern entries — Resident Evil VII: Biohazard.
I still need to make my way through the frankly amazing-looking remakes at some point, but they may have to wait a bit longer after all.
Black Myth: Zhong Kui
Yes.
Black Myth: Wukong, somewhat amazingly, actually managed to live up to the hype.
Zhong Kui isn’t just a DLC as earlier speculation suggested, but rather a full-on sequel. I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest there probably won’t be as long of a wait this time around, assuming a lot of technology (and perhaps even asset) re-use from Wukong.
Vampire: the Masquerade -Bloodlines 2
I dunno about this one anymore. It has been through an incredible amount of development hell and studio handovers.
It might still come out of the oven OK, but I’d place the chances of that being very slight. Which is a shame, as this occupied the #1 spot on my Steam wishlist for probably a good few years.
So I guess I might be listing it here now more out of morbid curiosity than anything else. It’s coming out October 22, 2025 — so I guess we’ll know soon enough.

This was posted during Blaugust 2025, the annual blogging event normally hosted by Belghast, with a twist this year of being hosted by Krikket. Blaugust is an event aiming to welcome new blogger blood into the fold and revitalise those who’ve been at it a little longer.
The Blaugust Discord is still available to join in, year-round!

I am with you as being worried about how Bloodlines 2 might turn out. Not only because of the development hell but because the story now seems completely different than what was initially announced years ago. Granted, I find the one on this trailer more interesting than the original one where we started by playing a Thin-Blood, if I recall correctly.
As for Silent Hill, it is a pretty good series of Survival Horror if you like them more psychological and creepy. Granted, I only played a little of the first one (back in the days of the Playstation 1) and a bit of the remake of the second one and watched a Let’s Play of the original 2. So my recommendation might not have that much weight…
I think of the entire list, I’m still most excited for Silksong. As I type this reply to you though, still ~6 hours to go before the release of whatever that premiere YouTube vid is. (Sha-dow drop. Sha-dow drop. Sha-dow drop. xD)
re: Bloodlines; I’m kinda with you on the story concept being more interesting. I’d love for it to turn out good still. I just wouldn’t get any money on that being the case. xD
Silent Hill is also pretty high up the interest scale though. The remake didn’t grab me enough to pull full freight for it, but an entirely new game? Seems like a good time to enter. :)
Not sure about f yet, but Silent Hill 1 and 2 are genuine works of art in my opinion. I plan on (finally) buying a PS5 come fall/winter, mainly to play the latter’s remake, as well as that of Resi 4.
As for Bloodlines 2…yeah, doesn’t look to great. I’m glad it’s still being worked on at all though.
P.S. Now I also watched the Resi Requiem bit, and wow, that one looks quite tasty!
Yeah, it’s looking good!
re: Bloodlines, I’d still like it to be good of course, I just have approaching nil faith it actually will be at this point. Stranger things have happened, though.
I kind of fast-forwarded through Gamescom ONL and now a few days later can’t really remember anything that really grabbed my attention. Probably a “me” problem more than anything since games have been pushed to the back burner of my brain due to my current obsession with AI stuff.
I continue to plod along in Wuthering Waves, though!
Yeah, you’ve been going deep into AI land! Turning out some interesting findings to share though!
In terms of not remembering anything that grabbed you — hell, it’s entirely possible nothing did. I had to stretch a little bit to get as many as I did. Of the ones I noted, top picks would be Silkson, EUV, Blackmyth: Zhong Kui, and then I think actually the Enshrouded update.
I am interested in the others, but far more ‘wait and see’ type interest.
