This will just be a really quick one — as I start writing this, it’s 1:20 am on Christmas morning. We were fairly well prepared for Christmas this time around, with wrapping largely completed ahead of time rather than a mad dash to the wee hours of the morning but here I am still awake anyway.

The house is incredibly quiet with everyone else asleep, too.

Anywho! Quick, quick I said. The message is really there in the title, but — Merry Christmas, everyone! Wherever you are, or whatever you’re doing — or even if you don’t celebrate Christmas at all — I hope you and your family are safe and having a good time. :)

In terms of things going on here — I have a crazy number of drafts I’m interested in pursuing at the moment. More ‘end of year’ type wrap-ups, for gaming and reading for example. The gaming one will definitely take another look at the giant gaming spreadsheet, like last year. Where the reading one will take a dive into the breakdown provided by Goodreads — both in the sense of my reading challenge (which I actually managed to complete, for once!) and in the reading year in review.

I might even engage in some predictions for 2022.

Definitely feeling somewhat revitalised just to be off work for a bit and to have Christmas so close (a matter of hours before it’s time to be up again for the Christmas tree stuff, in fact). Although time has certainly gone into hyperspeed and the holidays are flying by incredibly quickly.

In any case, I’m going to take my leave and head to bed — but again, be well everyone. Look forward to chatting with you all more shortly. :)

It’s my first day of the holiday break and of course Lola got me up an hour before my work alarm would’ve gotten me out of bed! Typical. Angela decorated the tree last night (I’d gotten it as far as put up and lighted then faltered) and I’ve got her gifts wrapped so I guess we’re ready too. Christmas is a pretty quiet time for us, with just the two of us and no family within easy travel range. I’ll call my brother, she’ll call her parents and we’ll be done.

I’ve been thinking of a marathon Lord of the Rings Extended Version re-watch, not so much because of the holiday itself as because of having a whole week off of work. I’m struggling to put work stuff out of my head; a visit to Middle Earth should help with that.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to you and yours!! I hope you all have a lovely day!

Haha. No pets coming and waking me up early, but I have found that, now that I have no mandated reason to be up early (except today), I’ve been much more willing and able to BE up early. xD

Marathon rewatch of LoTR Extended sounds like a great plan to help switch off again too. Hope it works for you, and you’re able to enjoy the time off!

Merry Christmas Pete, hope you have a great day with Lola and Angela. :)

Merry Christmas! I’d completely missed the fact that it’s already Christmas on the other side of the world. That explains why I got an eGift Card this morning from my stepdaughter in Sydney. Also, why the “Boxing Day” Ashes Test Match begind at 11.30pm on Christmas Day.

Yep, we’re the impatient side of the world. Gotta have it all now!

Got the morning events of the day done now (10:17am as I write this) — but still more to go in the evening with wider family.

Tomorrow is definitely going to be a day of rest and, likely, food comas.

Had breakfast out, got a lunch at home with direct family, then dinner with everyone later.
