Well, I was going to write about my gaming over the last couple of weeks since I last posted. So, um, lots of Granblue, now a fair bit of Helldivers 2 too. Baldur’s Gate 3 hit a snag in Act 2, and all the above have knocked Hardspace from regular play. There we go. Job done.

Can we talk about Last Epoch now?

I don’t know that I’d call this a ‘technical trailer’, but it is an awesome launch trailer.

What will I play? Not… entirely sure yet. There are a lot of options I’d like to investigate. The recent Rogue Falconer reveal included a build that was heavy on Marksman, with a toe dipped into Falconer that allowed for arrow storms all over the place while also having the option to rain a shower of explosive traps turned bombs.

That quite appeals.

But so does Paladin. Or a minion Necromancer. Ooh, or totem-toting-Shaman.

The Runemaster — last of the masteries to be added to Last Epoch during its Early Access/Beta phase — also looks incredible.

I’ve been trying not to jump in too much ahead of the launch, and I’ve generally followed that philosophy throughout the Early Access period. Meaning, unlike Belghast, I don’t have much end-game class knowledge to rely on, nor do I know much about what uniques / legendaries/sets I might want to pursue for whichever class and mastery I might ultimately run with to start.

Looking forward to my first run through the full campaign and seeing how the end game plays though, that’s for sure.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink still needs more of my time as well though. I’ve got pretty far into the long tail of character power development for my main – Narmaya – but I still haven’t 100% completed the ‘Proud’ difficulty fights, or got all the ultimate (Terminus) weapons that I want.

I’ve been really impressed though. As noted in my impressions, the game’s balance in all things relating to how one might approach and enjoy the game is incredible. I could have stopped progressing yonks ago, and have been satisfied with the power level reached. But for those that really want it, you can go deep, before even consideration for jumping to an ‘alt’ or similarly beefing up other characters to play in your AI party while not online with others.

I suspect it’ll still sneak in some play time here and there then, even in amongst the hype of Last Epoch. :)

If I never hear the phrase “The Void consumes our world” again, it’ll be a decade too late…

A decade too late? I feel like there is a reference here I am not picking up on. xD
