I just took a quick scan through my previous Journal-style posts, and it would appear this is the first time I’ve posted one on the 2nd of the month. Previously it has always been on either the final day of the month or the first day of the following month. But on the plus side — it gives me something to write about. I was sitting here yesterday evening — when I still would have been ‘on time’ — and ended up being defeated by the tyranny of the blank page.
Nothing at all was forthcoming. So in the end — sometime around 1:00am — I just had to put it aside with a promise to return later. It probably wasn’t helped along by the fact that I knew before I even began it was too late in the day to construct a post of the size that these Journal entries typically end up being.
I’ve felt blogging more of a struggle this month in general though, not just last night. I’d been keeping up with the series commitments in terms of the To the Moon Play-Along and the Civilisation VI Succession Game. I’ve even done a couple of posts for the Blogger City, Anddul! Although they did take second fiddle to the other posts and I’ve done very little else asides. I’m very much due to do another.
I’m not 100% sure on why this month has been so difficult.
I wouldn’t say I’ve been ‘overloaded’ on the regular features front, but I did notice a feeling of ‘coasting’ from one series post to the next. Although perhaps ‘coasting’ is stating it a little too harshly. There was a distinct lack of energy this month too. Possibly from having to adapt back to a rhythm of life which includes a daily commute to and from the city for work after 7 or so weeks of rolling out of bed in the morning to go to work. ;)
Even so — if that is it, I would have expected to be accustomed to it again by now. I’ll try and apply a little more effort this month, especially with the conclusion of the To the Moon series creating a little more clear air.
June’s Goals (and July’s!)
- Build a Blogger Community City in Cities: Skylines
Wait, can I count it as achieved if I only hit the ‘Tiny Town’ milestone? Not quite a ‘city’ yet. Hmm. Well; either way it’s a goal I’m carrying forward this month.
And to remove any doubt — to count it as achieved for July I need to have hit a milestone which explicitly calls Anddul a city. The next post will be primarily about (finally!) naming some things and actually making it a blogger
Looking forward to getting back to it actually. My game time over the past week or two has been fairly minimal, to the extent that I’m actually surprised at the overall number of hours played in the month!
Games Played in June
|Rank||Game||Hours||% Gaming Time|
|2||Call of Duty: Modern Warfare||8.1||12.9%|
|3||To the Moon||2.9||4.6%|
For me? This is an incredibly short list of games for the month. So much so that it prompted me to go back and look at the prior entries and I’ve only had one singular month where the list has been shorter. And that was last November when I was actively challenging myself to play a limited number of games for the month.
And, incidentally, the following month saw the games list expand out to 18. Hah.
Anyway. No World of Warcraft. I think I might have scratched that particular itch until Shadowlands rolls out at least. Removing it from the sidebar for now!
Also no Civilisation VI! But that just means my turn didn’t come up during June at all! But with 8-players that isn’t terribly surprising. :)
Otherwise, I picked up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Well… Sort of. Just the free version for ‘Warzone’, CoD’s take on a Battle Royale. Actually… Kinda enjoying it so far! Not a lot of hours yet, so I’m predictably still terrible. But it’s still a blast squadding up and playing with friends. :)
Across the month 62.6 hours of gaming. More than I thought, but down 56.8 hours on last month. Eesh. Although last month was a fair high one to be fair.
10 posts published in June, down 8 from last month. A low month to be sure. But on the plus side? Almost 300 published posts. To be more precise, this post will make 293 published posts. All going well, July will see the 300 mark surpassed! :)

This time, fourth AND fifth place was a bit interesting. The pages for both game types running at the moment placed. So I showed them but ALSO the post that sat alongside it. I think this is just what I’ll do now.
First two posts the same. Interest in Deep Rock Galactic since it’s 1.0 launch seems high, and, apparently, interest in Transport Fever never dies. Ditto for the current Humble Choice bundle. :)
